How to get here

Reach Vigo or Pontevedra. From there, one familiar taxi takes you into the village.

Anceu is half an hour inland from Pontevedra. No train reaches the door and the bus stops in the valley, so most arrivals share the same simple last leg.

Can I reach Anceu without a car?

Yes. Juan José has brought colivers to and from the house since 2020. He is the reason living here without a car works.

Which airport should I fly to?

Vigo is the closest. Santiago and Porto also work. These are the combinations that work in practice.

By plane

Vigo is easiest. From Santiago, connect to Pontevedra or take a €120 taxi. From Porto, Alsa, Autna and FlixBus connect towards Vigo and Pontevedra.

By train or coach

Type Pontevedra as your destination. Use Renfe for trains and bus.gal for regional buses. The Atlantic-axis services are direct from Galicia’s main cities.

Via Ponte Caldelas

Weekday buses run from Vigo and Pontevedra to the town below Anceu. From there the taxi is €10. Rural timetables change, so confirm them on bus.gal.
