Rural Connections: Building Bridges Between Coliving Communities 🌿

FEM Coliving arrived at Anceu Coliving and was warmly welcomed into the community. The evening’s Monday house meeting provided valuable insights into Anceu’s governance model, highlighting collective decision-making and community responsibility. The following days allowed FEM Coliving members to experience daily life at Anceu through shared meals, collaborative work sessions, and discussions on participatory living. The experience emphasized the importance of self-organization and mutual support in sustaining a thriving coliving space.

Cultural Preservation and Funding Opportunities

A guided walk through Anceu’s forest trails led participants to Pegadas do Recordo, an initiative dedicated to preserving intangible heritage through dance and storytelling. This immersive experience showcased the role of coliving in cultural preservation. A dedicated workshop focused on European funding opportunities, covering programs like Culture Moves Europe and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. Participants gained practical strategies for securing financial support for coliving projects.

Entre Culturas

The week concluded with Entre Culturas, an event uniting colivers and local residents through a culinary exchange and live traditional music. FEM Coliving shared insights on rural coliving, reinforcing the bonds between the two hubs. The exchange successfully strengthened the collaboration between Anceu Coliving and FEM Coliving, highlighting the significance of in-person interactions in driving meaningful initiatives. By expanding their perspectives on rural coliving, both hubs reaffirmed their commitment to innovation and heritage preservation.

This experience marks the beginning of further collaborative efforts to support resilient rural communities.
