Events

There is no printed programme. Some things return every year. Some happen in the week. Some a coliver invents.

This is not a ticketed calendar. It is what the house and the village actually do together — the dates live on the shared calendar once you are here.

What comes back

Rural Hackers Fest on Galicia’s day, neighbours cooking their countries’ food, Fuchiqueiras in the Casa do Pobo, and workshops through the year.

Rural Hackers Fest

Galicia’s day, in the village: local music and an open mic. It started small in 2020, with the house playing to itself. The neighbours come now.

Entre Culturas

Neighbours and whoever is staying cook the food of their countries, then there is music and dancing. More than twenty dishes arrived at the first one.

A Fuchiqueira

A Galician word for the art of curiosity. Intergenerational sessions in the Casa do Pobo: someone teaches 3D printing, someone else paella, someone else a traditional game.

Workshops

Some we run, like the Rural Hacking week. Some come with partners — ECHN, RuralGPT. If you want to hold one, write and say what you have in mind.

In an ordinary week

The house has a rhythm even when nothing is advertised. You join what you want; nothing is compulsory.

Shared dinners

Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Small rotating groups cook; each dinner is €5. The rest of the week you eat as you like.

Yoga

Andrea teaches twice a week. Ask when you arrive for this week’s times and how to join.

Training and boxing

Víctor lives in the village and runs personal training and boxing four times a week, as Rural Champs.

Neighbours and colivers record the village’s invisible heritage — the stories that would otherwise leave with the people who hold them.

Artist residencies

Rural Hackers hosts month-long residencies — Becoming Cuco and others — where artists and makers work with the village.
